Many of our team have been with us since we first opened the welcoming doors to The Wave and consider themselves as a large and fun-loving family.
Registered, Licensed and Insured Professionals
The Wave Team are all fully registered, trained and licensed in their specialist fields either in Malaysia or their home countries.
We are licensed to provide medical care and to prescribe and admit children, teenagers and young adults to all levels of care.
We hold current Practice Insurance, as individuals and as a collective.
Safeguarding Vulnerable People and Enhanced Police Checks
Every member of our team, in every department, has completed Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults training and registration with UK Accreditation at the appropriate level for their role and responsibilities.
Clinical & Medical Teams are Level 3 & 4 accredited.
Police Records Checks, Enhanced Disclosures and International Child Protection Certificates are obtained for all team members from countries who comply with Police Certificate Systems.

Trauma-Focused Training and Trauma-Focused Care
The Wave team is both trauma-focused and trauma-integrated.
Our team receives ongoing and specialist trainings in current trauma-focused developments. We never stop learning, listening and implementing research-led developments into our programs. We are leaders in Integrated Trauma-Focused Programs across all of our speciality areas.
We are interested in the neurophysiology of trauma and the functioning of the brain and the peripheral nervous system in children, teenagers and young adults who have been exposed to childhood or developmental trauma.
The Wave Programs are pioneers in the inclusion research-based genetics, epigenetics, attachment theory, neuroplasticity and memory storage in residential clinical interventions for young people and their families.
Eating Disorder Trained Teams
Every member of The Wave team is trained in the fundamentals of eating disorders, care and management. This means that every person that is in contact with our young people has a solid foundation in the appropriate use of language, observation and practical skills.
Our housekeepers, kitchen teams and auxiliary teams are an incredibly important part of our young peoples’ daily routines and an added support system when needed.
Clinical and medical teams and recovery specialists are trained to an advanced level and are certified by InsideOut Institute, Australia.
Association of Child Protection Professionals
The Wave is an organisational member of ACPP and works towards furthering the mission, values and ongoing training for our teams in the area of Child Protection.
Family Law: Mediation and Guardian Ad Litem
Appropriate members of our mental health teams have completed Guardian Ad Litem training and Child Custody Evaluation Training. Our Family Law specialists and Mediation panels are licensed to practice in the country of referral.
Associated and External Specialists
We choose our associates very carefully. Our international team are registered and accredited, supervised and insured in their home countries.
